Attitude Foundation and ANZ announce 2 year Partnership

25 September 2015

The Attitude Foundation today announced ANZ has agreed to support its mission by becoming its new Principal Partner. An essential part of this partnership is the two-year financial commitment that will assist the Attitude Foundation’s objectives of giving a voice to the four million Australians with disabilities. Their stories will be delivered through the creation of a documentary TV series and amplified via multiple digital channels, aimed at shaping a new understanding of disability throughout Australia.

The Attitude Foundation was created in 2014 with the purpose of relieving the discrimination experienced by people with a disability in Australia by increasing the inclusion and integration of people with disability into every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life and by empowering and building capacity of people with disability.

Attitude Foundation Chair, Graeme Innes AM said “ANZ is an iconic Australian brand, and it is great that they are the first to partner with us to ensure that stories of people with disabilities are told through our voice. Such stories can change attitudes about us, and changing attitudes changes lives.”

ANZ is known for its strategic priority and measurable targets on diversity and inclusion.

Group Chief Operating Officer, Alistair Currie, is ANZ’s Executive Sponsor for Accessibility and Inclusion: “Put simply, we want to help make the world more accessible and inclusive for people who have a disability. As a bank we can do this through the type of products, services, branches and offices we have, as well as by providing long-term employment. Through this sponsorship we can help increase the visibility and understanding of people with a disability within the community – and that is definitely worth investing in.”

This partnership reflects a shared desire to change community attitudes and behaviour; and to empower people with disabilities to participate in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
